THE BRIDGE MINISTRIES

Located in Shelbyville, Indiana

Our Mission

The Bridge exists to provide hope by rebuilding lives, restoring families and revitalizing our community.

After many conversations with local community leaders we began to hear the same thing over and over again: “Our community is struggling with addiction, with mentorship, and with generational cycles of poverty.”

The Bridge was born out of a desire to bring hope and healing to our community.

In order to love our neighbors well, we specifically engage in the following areas:

Community Care

We intentionally engage the community through relationship based approaches to address long-term brokenness in our community. God did not create us to do life alone. When we are in close relationships with other people we develop relationships of mutual transformation. Through intentional community engagement we provide opportunities for individuals to journey together to become healthier as they apply God’s truth to their life.

Faith-Based Recovery

We believe that the restorative power of Jesus Christ can set people and our community free from the bondage of addiction. We walk alongside individuals while they establish or restore their faith and relationship with God while providing Christ-centered solutions to seek freedom from addiction and other life-controlling issues. Our desire is to provide a firm foundation and  safe places for recovery and restoration.

Counseling & Discipleship

Life can be difficult, but we’re passionate about helping people overcome their struggles by providing compassionate counseling full of grace and truth. We desire to come alongside those who are in seasons of sorrow, sickness or setbacks in our community and join them on their journey. We work with mentors and counselors to provide Christ-Centered mentorship and personal development to individuals and families. Our mentors and counselors provide help for marriage, family, grief, recovery, and other life struggles.

Leadership & Job Training

Maintaining meaningful employment is critical in overcoming poverty, yet many individuals lack the resources and skill sets to remain employed or earn a livable wage. We believe education, encouragement, discipleship and God’s power to transform a heart are essential components for success. We invest in rebuilding lives affected by poverty, addiction, and incarceration by teaching job-skills, a trade, and helping individuals find long-term employment.
